Earl Lewis Whaley, 35, died Thursday of last week when he fell into a 30 foot well at the John Murphy farm in Oniontown, town of Dover. Whaley plunged into seven feet of water head first, and death was caused by strangulation. He had been boarding at the Murphy house for some time. He had gone to the well for a pail of water, and presumably lost his balance. He was the son of Mrs. Birdella Whaley and the late Isaac Whaley, one time railroad man on the Harlem Division. Survived by his mother; his widow, Frances Humeston Whaley; a young son Charles and two brothers, Donald of Buffalo, and Harry of Dover.
