Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Smith, 88 of Clarinda will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 2, 1989 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home with Rev. John Clark and Rev. David Renfro officiating.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m., this Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, May 30, 1989 at Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks.
She was born May 13,1901, at Clarinda, the daughter of Lawrence and Cora Maley Davison. On May 17, 1919 she was married to Harry E. Smith who preceded her in death May 21,1986.
Mrs. Smith had worked at Berry Seed Co, J.C. Penny's and had done alterations in her home.
She is survived by five children: Everett (Bus) Smith, Gilbert, Az, Wanda Holmes, Lakewood, Co, Kenneth and Jack Smith of Clarinda and Ron Smith, New Hall, Ca. There are 19 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Clifford Davison of Clarinda is a brother.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, 1 granddaughter, two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Gladys Fletcher and Laverne Holland.
Burial will be in Clarinda cemetery.
