Charles E. Cox, 65, Forest Grove real estate salesman, died unexpectedly at his home Saturday evening of a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted at First Baptist church, Forest Grove, Tuesday, April 4, with arrangements entrusted to Fuiten's Mortuary.

The church pastor, The Rev. Thornton Jansma, officiated with Edith Mocroft organist and Dave Fuiten soloist. Concluding services were at the Sunset Hills cemetery with W.J. Craig, George Friesen, Gene Ballard, Con Meeker, Deb Garrett and Carl Kadolph casketbearers and Tom Isaacs, J.M. Person, Harry Reeher and R. R. McClain honorary bearers.

Mr. Cox was born at Ozark, MO. He served with the A.E.F. in World War I in France and was wounded in the Argonne forest fighting.

He operated a store and service station and engaged in livestock sales and brokerage in Ohio before coming to North Plains in 1948.

He moved to Forest Grove in 1950. With the exception of three years with the Reeher Realty in Forest Grove, he had been with the J. M. Person Agency in Hillsboro.

Mr. Cox was a member of the Disabled American Veterans; The American Legion and the Christian Business mens' committee. He was also very active in First Baptist church Forest Grove.

He was married to Martha Cobb at Wauseon, Ohio Feb. 14, 1929, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Neil (Virginia) Lovell, Colton, and Mrs. Sid (Barbara) McGauhey, Santa Barbara, Calif.

Additional survivors include a brother, Walter Cox, Davenport, Iowa; sisters, Miss Mabel Cox; Mrs. Earl (Mamie) Hilton and Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Wulff, all of Delta, Ohio, and Mrs. Charles (Edna) Kellogg, Toledo, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
