The committee appointed by the Baptist Sunday School to prepare resolutions in regard to the removal from our town of Rev. N. N. Edge, submit the following.
Resolution 1 - We deeply regret that circumstances render it necessary for our Brother to leave us-him who has been for years our sympathizing guide and friend.
Resolution 2 - That by his departure we lose a zealous, earnest Sunday School worker, a faithful minister of the gospel and a citizen whose energies have been exerted for the spiritual welfare of the people and especially of the young.
Resolution - 3 That the prosperous condition of the Sunday School is due, in a great measure to his earnest efforts.
Resolution 4 - That we commend Bro. Edge to the brethren and friends with and for whom he has gone to labor, and bespeak for him. In his new field, their cooperation in the dissemination of truth the advancement of the Sunday School interest and his endeavors to instruct the young and bring them to Christ

J. S. Hill, W. T. McCollum, J. B. Harden, Committee

The Cherokee Advance 26 Feb 1886 p. 2.
Rev. N. N. Edge and wife and son, Cooper, and Hal Daniel have gone to Hampton, where they will engage in the publication of the Hampton Herald. Mr. Edge and family have been residents of this place since 1862 and for a time Mr. Edge was editor of The Advance and pastor of the Baptist church here. He has many friends here who wish him great success and the enjoyment of good health at his new home. Mr. Edge has considerate experience and ability and will give the people of Hampton and Henry county a live, interesting journal. His first paper will be issued about March 6, 1886. He has our best wises for his own and the Herald's success.
Thanks, Meredith
