OBITUARY :
CHARLES AMOS (CHUCK) ADAMS, 89, of Beaver Creek, Maryland, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born December 3, 1914 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Edward Lee and Sallie Light Ardinger Adams.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Marie Adams on February 17, 1998.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army, and was awarded the Bronze Star.

He was employed with Allegheny Energy as an accountant, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.

He was a charter member of the Beaver Creek Country Club, a member of the Board of Governors with the Beaver Creek Country Club. He was a member of the B.P.O.Elks 378, the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42, the Allegheny Energy Forerunners Club, and a former member of the Professional Golf Association.

He was well known in golfing circles. He won many championships, including City Champion, and had received many other golfing awards.

He is survived by one sister, Jean Ambrose of Hagerstown.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Lee Adams, Jr., and Jack Light Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. Rev. Quentin J. Fleming will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 15 Randolph Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
