Swan had been in poor health for about three years and passed away in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe. Friends called at the Earle Little Funeral Home and services were held at the Church of God Mountain Assembly, of which he was a member. The Rev. Cornelius officiated and burial was in Woodland Cemetery, Monroe.
He was employed at Monroe Stamping Plant, Ford Motor Company for 20 years, retiring in 1969.
Swan was survived by his wife Lilie; three sons, and four daughters; four sisters, and seventeen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, and three brothers.
