Mr. Barker was born in Burlington, Maine on the first day of January 1840. He was united in marriage to Miss Georgiana Chase April 25, 1864. In 1866 Mr. Barker came with his family to River Falls and soon after purchased the farm in Kinnickinnic, which has since been his home.
He leaves surviving him his wife and three children - Nellie, Mary, (Mrs. Fred Smith) and Ray. It can truly be said of Mr. Barker that,"to know him was to respect and honor him." He was a good neighbor, a thoughtfully kind and indulgent husband and father, a citizen of high moral character and strict integrity. A large circle of friends join with the bereaved family in mourning their loss.
The funeral was held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. D.B. Spence officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery.
