He grew up in the Buhl-Kinney area, where he attended school. He served as an MP in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. He had worked for 25 years at National Steel in Keewatin as a millwright. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who was known to often say, If I cant fix it, it cant be fixed.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Susan (Norman) Nelson; sons: Raymond Jr. (Gladys), Todd, John, and Mitchell; sisters: Florence (Robert) Johnson, Doris Groce, and Agnes Dolly Wakefield; brothers: Dennis (Marge) Wakefield, Edward (Carol) Wakefield, and Michael Roses; three grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shari Wakefield; his parents; brothers: James and Joseph; and sister, Vivian Hoshal.
