on January 19, 2012:
David served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a retired member of the Shakopee Fire Department; prior to retirement he worked for Ames Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Heavy Equipment Operators Local 49, the Shrine, and the Minnesota River Valley Masonic Lodge 6 of Shakopee.

Survived by daughter, Linda Reed Fuhrman; grandson, Arthur Gesswein, Jr. (Monica); granddaughter, Rebecca Gesswein; great-granddaughter, Bailey Gesswein; great-grandson, Dawson Gesswein; companion, Mary Sullivan; her children, Beth (Brian) Ecker, Mark (Kammey) Mahowald, Jane Sullivan; her grandchildren, Greg, Christine, Wyatt, Shannon, Brittany, Eve, William and Emme; brother, Oscar (Sheila) Reed; sisters, Carol Garmon, Mareitta Yates; also many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by wife, Arvella; parents, Dale and Lillian; sister, Delores Dvorak; brothers, Gordon, Dan, James, Allen, Edward and Mike.
