RUBY G ROBEY, 91, formerly of Van Wert, died at 12:52 pm May, 2002, at VanCrest Care Center, Delphos.
She was born Nov 9, 1910, in Adams County, Ind., to John W Reinhard and Cora E Durbin Reinhard Huser, who preceded her in death. On June 18, 1931, she married John F Robey, Sr., who died July 1, 1985. Mrs Robey was a homemaker and had worked as a loving caregiver in several homes in Spencerville. She was a member of the Friends Church, Spencerville, and its missionary society. She was a member of the Jolly Dozen Club and the Gold Star Mothers. She was a life member of American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 Auxiliary, both in Spencerville.
Survivors include three sons, John F (Eileen) Robey Jr. of Venedocia, Franklin D. (Daomi) Robey of Van Wert and David D Robey of Montgomery, Mich; five daughters, Dorothy K. (Rex) Shaffer and Nancy I Robey, both of Spencerville, Florence R (Lowell) Noland and Mery E (Raymond) Young, both of Venedocia, and Carol A (Darrel) Bowers of Delphos; and 46 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sons, Richard, Donald, William and an infant; three brothers, Arthur, William and John; a sister, Mary Baker; and six grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10:30 am Thursday at Friends Church, Spencerville. The Rev William R Abram will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm Wednesday at Thomas E Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville.
