Daughter of J. Abe & Zura (Hess) Neff.

On March 30, 1935 she married Orville J. Sherman.

She served with the Heifer Project Internatinal in Venezuela 1948-49. In 1955-57 she served in Greece for the Church World Service. In 1953-54 she was a bookkeeper for National Offices of the Corp Program. In 1960-68 served as assistant administrator under her husband for the Mexico (IN) Church of the Brethren Home. In 1968 the Church of the Brethren moved the Mexico Home to North Manchester (IN) and established what is now the Timbercrest Senior Living Community, where Mrs. Sherman served as assistant administrator until retirement in 1979.

Mrs. Sherman also worked with the Elkhart Co. Agents Office as Home Economics director and in charge of 4-H records. She worked with the Farm Bureau for five years preparing taxes for farmers.

Mrs. Sherman was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, Liberty Mills, IN, the Home Economic Club, Goshen, IN and a member of Church Women United. She had been a 4-H leader for nine years in Elkhart County and served as a baking an sewing judge for other county 4-H fairs.
