Homegoing Services were held Wednesday, February 2, 2011, in the Monumental Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Vandroth Backus, Sr., Pastor and Mrs. Florence S. Backus, First Lady. Burial followed in the North View Cemetery. Directed by Backus Funeral Home of Florence.
Born February 24, 2007 a daughter of Temaka Grant and Danny Murray, Ty'Lashia was a student at the Carver Elementary School. She was a member of the Monumental Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving Are: Her Parents, Temaka Grant and Danny Murray; three brothers, Kye-mondra T. Edwards and Kyedan R. Edwards, and Na-Shawn Grant, a special Sister, Robyn (Gregory) Taylor; an Uncle she was reared with, Alijah McElveen; her Maternal Grandparents, Kimberly Brockington, Gary Rivers; Paternal Grandmother Vivian Andrews; a special Aunt, Shanice Grant, a host of other Aunts and Uncles; A host of Great Aunts, Mary Moore and Shirley Grant, and Uncles; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Cause of Death:
Ty'Lashia was the victim of child abuse.
