The Oklahoman, Fri, Dec 27, 1991: Forrest Dean Asher 59, was a gift to Our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Christmas Day. He was a beloved husband and father; his children and grandchildren were his delight. He touched the life of all those he came in contact with.

He attended the University of Kansas and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He married Jeanne Camp on Sep 26, 1953 in Oklahoma City. He retired from Kerr-McGee as Manager of the Property Tax Department after 24 years of service and was a veteran of the US Army.

He was a proud member of ATO Fraternity and an active member of May Avenue United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardner and held a membership in several tax organizations, the Emphysema Chapter of the American Lung Association, and had many friends through the Pacer Fitness Club.

He is survived by his loving wife Jeanne, of the home; one son, Jeff Asher, of the home; two daughters, Amy Asher, Sharyl and her husband Bart Thompson and two grand-children, all of OKC; one brother and sister-in-law, George W & Helen Asher of Great Bend KS; mother-in-law, Blanche Camp of OKC; aunt, Rose Widmaier of OKC.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials may be made to May Avenue United Methodist Church, or the American Lung Association. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 am at May Avenue United Methodist Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. (Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper)
