Mrs. Lucy Patten, 98, of Portageville, died Sept. 19, 1994 at Portageville Nursing Home. Born July 30, 1896 in Arkansas, she was the daughter of James and Ann Hicks Ross. She was a member of the J.Y. Church of God. She was the widow of Walter Patten.
She is survived by three sons, J.D. and Kenneth Patten, both of Portageville, and Pierce Patten of Ypsilanti, Mich.; Five daughters, Minnie Alice Clay of Portageville, Ann Bernice Hughey of Blytheville, Hila Peterson of New Madrid, Opal Gamblin of San Diego and LaVern Robinson of Tuscon, Ariz.; A brother, Arthur Ross of Dover, Ark.; A sister, Cindy Page of Dover, Ark.; Thirty-three grandchldren, 49 great grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Alfred, Odell and Burl; a daughter, Margaret; four brothers, Willie, John, George and Jackson Ross; and two sisters, Rhoda Avery and Tinnie Pack.
Services were Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at DeLisle Funeral Home chapel in Portageville, the Rev. Royce "Buddy" Allen and the Rev. Danny Stevens officiating, with burial in Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark, Van, Coy, Raymond and Billy Patten, Douglas Robinson and Larry Donoho.
