Lora Poe, 90, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012, in Alvord, Texas.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with Bill Cleveland and Larry Cox officiating.

Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery.

Lora was born June 1, 1921 to Needhum Bazine and Ella Mae (Rice) Bell. She attended school in St. Jo through the 11th grade, and married John Henry Poe. Lora worked for Bellmire Healthcare Facilities as a medical aide. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and is remembered with love and appreciation as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Needhum and Ella Mae Bell; husband, John Henry Poe; son,Edward Arnold Poe; three brothers, Charles, Aaron, and Hess Bell; four sisters, Lorena Bell, Leona Case, Gladys Leek, and Charlotte Bell; and granddaughter, Stephanie Reaves.

Lora is survived by her daughter, Johnnie Charlene Mitchum and husband, Ray of Alvord; two granddaughters, Kim McKee and husband, Benny of Collinsville and Donna Reaves and husband, Jody of Montague; nine great grandchildren, Melvin Cantrell and wife, Ashley of Alvord, Summer Cantrell of Collinsville, Sidney, Kayle, Joey, John, and Brooke Reaves all of Montague, Brandi and Brook McKee of Van Alstine; two great, great grandsons; Bryce and Brody Cantrell of Alvord; and numerous nieces and nephews.
