Mrs. Edna May Manley, age 82, of Edna, KS died early Saturday morning January 1, 1994 in the Chetopa Nursing Home at Chetopa, KS.
Edna Manley was born August 27, 1911, at Hutchinson, KS to Lewis Kirby and Sylvia Elizabeth (Stevenson) Comstock. She attended school in Hutchinson later moving to Cedar Vale, KS and was graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1929.
On June 4, 1930 she married Ray O. Manley at Sedan, KS. Following their marriage they farmed near Cedar Vale before moving to Edna in 1932.
During the 1940's Mrs. Manley worked for the Ordinance Plant at Parsons. During the 1950's she worked for Continental Can Company at Coffeyville. She later worked for the Edna Post Office and Cole's Grocery Store in Edna.
Mrs. Manley was a member of the Cedar Vale Methodist Church.
Mrs. Manley is survived by her husband, Ray O. Manley of the home; one daughter - Bonnie Long of Route 2, Coffeyville; two sons, Sheldon Manley of Coffeyville and Darrell Manley of South Coffeyville; one brother, Thomas Comstock of Cedar Vale; two sisters, Dorothea Horton of Hemet, CA and Sylvia Scott of Cedar Vale; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Manley was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Virginia and Loula, and four brothers, Wallace, Claude, Lewis and Frank.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 1994 in the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel in Coffeyville with burial in the North Edge Cemetery at Edna.
