MRS. M. LARSEN DIES SATURDAY
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Maud Larsen were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sardy Mortuary with the Rev. Keith Hamilton conducting the service. Mrs. Larsen, a long time resident of Aspen, died at her home Saturday evening after an illness of several months and attending complications of old age. Burial was in Red Butte Cemetery by the side of Mr. Larsen who died in 1909. Mrs. Maud Louise Larsen, nee Cole, was born November 8, 1868, in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away October 22, 1949, at her home on East Hallam Street.
She came to Colorado when a child of three. She spent her early girlhood in Leadville, where she met and was united in marriage to John Larsen in 1883. To this union was born eight children, four of whom preceded her in death. More than fifty years ago Mr. and Mrs. Larsen came to Aspen, where Mr. Larsen was engaged in mining until his death in 1909.
She is survived by four daughters, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
