Mrs. William Stickler, a life long resident of this vicinity, passed away at her home in Lexington, Friday, January 9, 1937, after a long illness.
Mrs. Stickler was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Crumbaker and was born east of Lexington* November 18, 1852. She was married to William Stickler April 16, 1874, and spent her entire life in this vicinity. They were the parents of one daughter, Margaret, who died at the age of 21 in 1896. Mr. Stickler died April 15, 1931.
Surviving are two brothers, Oliver Crumbaker, who is now critically ill in his home in Cropsey and Jonas of Washington and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Lawrence of Winlock, Washington, and Mrs. Sarah Smith of Albion, Nebraska. There are also several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stickler served as assistant postmaster 16 years, 1898 to 1914, during the time Mr. Stickler was postmaster. She was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Funeral services were held from the Musselman Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Reverend T. Reighton Jones. Mrs. W. A. McCully sang, accompanied by Lewis Magill. Pall bearers were W. A. McCully, George Crum, J. L. Vawter, George Malcom, Forest Bodkin and F. W. Wald.
Burial was made in the Lexington cemetery.
