WALKER-Samuel E. WALKER, one of the oldest and most respected residents of Salona, died last Wednesday night, following a stroke of paralysis. He was 80 years old. Mr. WALKER was born in Miles Township, Centre Count, and in 1860 located on a farm two miles east of Salona. He was married to Miss Amanda E. BRUNGARD in 1860 and after her demise in 1860 he moved Salona, where he retired from active farm life and later married Miss Mary C. BEST. He was an upright and honorable citizen and had served in several of the township offices. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and had held various offices. By thrift and industry he had amassed quite a competence.
Deceased is survived by his wife and four sons; George D., of Allison Township; J. Clement, Salona; Charles E. Johnstown, and W. Harrison, Bellefonte. The funeral was held Saturday forenoon and interment was made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
