Services for Edward Leon "Ned" Johnston, 83, of Austin were held Friday at First United Methodist Church in Vici, Okla. Burial followed in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici. Mr. Johnston died Feb. 4 at his home. He was born Sept. 30, 1901, near Vici. He married Cecilia G. Remmele in Vici. - Mr. Johnston was a farmer and stockman until he and his family moved to Odessa in 1957. While living in Odessa, he was employed in oil-related work for 15 years and worked for an Odessa laundry company for five years. He moved to Austin in 1977. Survivors include his wife,; Cecilia Johnston of Austin; a son, Bernard Johnston of Austin; two sisters, Maude Campbell of Santa Ana, Calif., and Alice Bryan of Watsonville, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Johnston of Kansas City, Mo., and Lester Johnston of Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
