W. T. graduated from Penelope High School and attended the University of Corpus Christ. Ordained in 1954, he pastored churches in Beasley, El Campo, Aldine, Freer, and Priddy. He also worked in the energy industry spending much of his career with Stearns Roger. Whether on his secular job or in the ministry, W. T. was never ashamed of the gospel of Christ. He also worked in missionary efforts with native American tribes in New Mexico and Idaho.
On May 27, 1949, W. T. married Nancy Antoinette Landers in Houston, Texas. He survived his wife Nancy by 20 days, stating he was ready to be with his sweetheart.
W. T. was consistent in his walk with the Lord, always living as an example and leaving a Christian heritage for his family.
He. is survived by his children Charlotte Berryhill of Hutto, Texas; John and Adra Berryhill of Wichita Falls,Texas; Robert and Debra Berryhill of Smithville, Texas; and Lois Ann Faught of Pflugerville, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tanner Berryhill and his wife Nikki, Ashlyn Midkiff and her husband T. J., Robert J. Berryhill and his wife Jessica, Matthew Berryhill and his wife Adela, Loren Berryhill, Reagan Faught and his wife Stephanie, Mitchell Faught, Cynthia Faught, and Troy Weir and his great-grandchildren, Alexander Berryhill, Jacob Berryhill, Levi Berryhill, Presleigh Berryhill, and Emma Lee Faught. W. T. is also survived by his sister-in-law Nelda Berryhill of Irving, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
W. T. was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy A. (Landers) Berryhill, one son William Thomas Berryhill, his parents, his brothers, Jack, Warren, Travis, Robert, and Billie Joe, and his sisters Lois and Mozelle.
Services were held Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at The Parkview Baptist Church in San Saba, Texas, with Rev. Fred Wallis, Officiating, and Rev. Clyde Dodd, Assisting.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at the San Saba Cemetery.
