Daughter of Jonathan and Mary J. Hall
We knew from family stories that she was orphaned as a child and raised by a couple of different folks before she married the first time at 16 or so. I was finally able to find her in the 1860 census with her first 'adopted' family and then in the 1850 census with her birth family. The story was that her mother died (probably in childbirth with Lydia) and her father farmed out the children and returned to Tennessee where he remarried and raised another family.
