In the Civil War pension file of George H. Wilson, Certificate # 422552, there is an affidavit dated 30 September, 1891 by Sarah A. Clark, formerly, Sarah A. Wilson. She stated that she was 35, a resident of Manchester, Hartford Co., Connecticut. Sarah further states that she was a legitimate child of George H. Wilson who was in Co. G, 13th Regiment Connecticut Volunteers and Co. G, 16th Regiment Connecticut
Volunteers. He is stated to have died in Florence, South Carolina in April 1864 or thereabouts. He left a widow who had remarried.
