CHAPEL HILL -- Mr. Aderholdt, 59, passed away March 2, 2008 in Hillsborough, North Carolina with family and friends at his side. Mr. Aderholdt was born on September 22, 1948 in Gadsden, Alabama, son of Harry and Elizabeth Allen.
'Joe' was a free spirit who has been a fixture on the southern rock and roll scene since the late 1960's. Traveling with bands like the Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd, he led a very colorful and eventful life. He was a big guy with a big heart and one of those fascinating characters that you don't soon forget.
He is survived by his sister, Sally Ott of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; his niece, Kathryn Kieser of Atlanta, Georgia; his great-niece, Lauren Kieser; his nephew, Bill Ott of Charlotte, North Carolina; and many close friends all over the country.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Walker Funeral Home of Chapel Hill.
