Victim of a heart attack, Charles B. Durbin, 59, well known farmer and stockman of Morris Township, died at his home at Nineveh yesterday evening, Nov. 19, 1941, at 5:15 o'clock, an hour after he was taken ill.

A lifelong resident of Washington and Morris Townships, Mr. Durbin was born November 1, 1882, at Sycamore, a son of the late George and Jennie Fonner Durbin.

During his early life he attended Waynesburg College and taught five terms in the schools of Greene County. Mr. Durbin had served 12 years as assessor of Morris Township, was auditor of that township at the time of his death, and at the recent municipal election was elected to the office of justice of the peace.

He was a member and elder of the Presbyterian Church at Nineveh.

Mr. Durbin was twice married. His first wife, Mrs. Fannie Huffman Durbin, died August 26 (NOTE: THE DAY OF DEATH CONFLICTS WITH INFORMATION FOUND IN ANOTHER SOURCE), 1929, and by this union he leaves one son, Charles H. Durbin, of Ruff Creek, and two grandchildren. On June 28, 1933, he was united in marriage with Jean Wolfe, who survives.

He also leaves two brothers and two sisters, namely: Albert F. and Thomas H. Durbin, both of Sycamore; Mrs. Hazel Wise, of Wadestown, W. Va., and Miss Sara Durbin, of Waynesburg.

One brother and two sisters are deceased.

DURBIN - Funeral services for Charles B. Durbin, of Nineveh, will be held Friday, Nov. 21, at 1:30 p. m., from his late home. The services will be in charge of the Rev. Harry Gardner, of Waynesburg, assisted by the Rev. W. E. Daugherty. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville. Friends will be received at the Durbin home after noon today. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Ralph H. Scott, Rogersville funeral director.
