Banninger was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Prentice, Wis., to Wilho and Ellen Thompson Tommila. She married Loren Banninger in Wadsworth, Nev., in July of 1948.
She received a nursing degree.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda French of Tigard and Laurie Bush of Medford; a son, Harry of Westfir; a brother, Larry Tommila of Chicago; a sister, Lilly Paradise of Sumner, Maine ( Lily Marlene Paradis b. 01-21-1946 d. 03-04-2011 Sumner, Maine); 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Loren Jr., died previously, and a daughter, Lenora Banninger, died in 2001.
Today's service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Forestvale Memorial Park in Oakridge.
Oakridge Chapel of the Woods Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
