Elmer Ray Heath, 73, of Ashland, died Wednesday morning at his home.
Mr. Heath was born Nov. 9, 1901, son of Melvin Joel and Martha Ann Oswalt Heath. On Nov. 7 (note: not sure of the number "7"), 1931, he was married to the former Jesse Farris, who survives.
He was a retired construction worker.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Childs, Independence; two daughters (sic - that is the way it is stated in his obituary), Mrs. Joanne Kearan, St. Charles; and Mrs. Margie Powell, Springfield; one son, James Leonard Jennings, of the state of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Nichols and Mrs. Aletha Sprague, Columbia; one brother, Vernon Heath, Rocheport; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Burnett Funeral Chapel, Ashland, with Elder Walter Johnson officiating. Burial will be in New Liberty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, southwest of Ashland.
