...was an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Wofford College (1895), the University of Richmond (1897), the University of South Carolina (1898), and Washington and Lee University (1900, 1902), compiling a career college football record of 11–16. He had a son, Charles c. 1901, who later became a foreign editor to the Time Magazine.[1]
