Tony L. Alarid, age 97, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 10, 2012, at home with his loving family at his side.
Tony is survived by daughters, Dolores Villanueva and her husband, Phillip and Elizabeth Padilla and her husband, Carmel Jr., grandchildren, Michelle Torrez, Melissa Roveto and her husband, Chris, Martín Villanueva, Matthew Villanueva and his wife, Lollie, Joseph Solano and his wife, Penny, Bernadette Solano, Grace Pagliaro and her husband, Joseph, Monica Padilla and Tammy Perkins, Anthony Padilla and Sally Martínez and Jennifer Márquez and her husband, Pete Jr., great-grandchildren, brother, Gabriel Mosher, O.P., Jared Mosher and his wife, Jill, Justin Torrez y Villanueva and his fiancée, Marina Reyes, Janelle Torrez, Lauren Roveto, Jacob Villanueva, Maddie Villanueva, Tanner Solano, Jean Irene Solano, Gracía Pagliaro, Melissa Padilla, Vanessa Gonzáles and her fiancé, George García, Estevan Padilla, Amanda Padilla, Alexis Márquez, Trey Márquez and Rio Márquez, great-great-grandchildren, Kierin and Jaid Mosher, Inigo Torrez y Reyes, Chanelle Padilla, Andrew Pineda, Aaliyah and Alejandro Gonzáles, Dominic and Jordan García.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, daughters, Shirley and Jean, brothers and sisters, Socorito López, Mary Perea, Alberto Alarid, Manuel Alarid, Anita Alarid, and Helen Aranda.
Tony worked and was co-owner of Ruppe Drug Store. Mr. Alarid played baseball for Barelas when he was a teenager at which time they became regional champions. Tony loved spending time with his wife and family and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary and will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment of cremains will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Urnbearer will be his son in law, Carmel Padilla Jr.
