She was a skilled communicator and a consummate sales professional in several industries. She was a voracious reader of newspapers and had the gift of being able to take editors to task and articulate her position with intelligence and wit.
As a lifelong supporter of the Arts, she volunteered in museums, and joined preservation efforts, most notably the successful drive to save the historic Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. She never met a dog she didn't love. She gave homes to pure-breds and 'mutts' alike, and kept a special place in her heart for rescued Greyhounds and Whippets.
She was most noted for her achievements in raising a dynamic and loving family. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Liz and Chris Stiles of St. Petersburg; three sons and their wives, David and Mary Ann Russell of Snellville, GA, Charles and Jeanine Russell of Athens, GA, and Peter and Erin Russell of Sherwood, OR; two stepchildren, Judith Novick of Danville, CA, and Stuart Novick of Hawaii; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jehiel Novick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westminster Suncoast Scholarship Fund, 6909 Dr. M.L. King Street S., St. Petersburg, or the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL. Anderson McQueen Funeral Homes, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. Street North, St. Petersburg, FL.
