Rev. Henry W. Powell, 75, former Baptist minister, died Tuesday morning at his home at 354 Lafayette street, after an illness of but a few days duration having been stricken with bronchial pneumonia Friday.
Part of his absence from Ionia was during times he was occupying pulpits at Traverse City, Lowell and Mason. He also served at Lyons for some time.
Surviving are his wife and son J. Nelson Powell. He also leaves three brothers, Horace Powell, Carson City; Rev. H. J. Powell, Santa Ana, Calif., and Herbert E. Powell, state commissioner of agriculture. He has two sisters, Mrs. Frances Normington, Ionia and Mrs. Ella Barnes, Tarpon Springs, Fla.
