Jewel Bowen, 79, of Channelview, went home to be with Jesus on Dec. 13, 2011. She was born Jan. 16, 1932 in Mobile, Alabama to Garner & Sara Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents and by husband, William Jeff Bowen, Jr. She is survived by children, Alan Bowen & wife, Jane; Bonita Martin & husband, Ross; and Cindy Smith & husband, Eddie; as well as by grandchildren, Alan, Jr., Ashley Bowen, Kristin Martin, Kyle Martin, Jared Smith, Carter Smith and Rachel Smith; by brother, Albert "Bud" Allen & wife, Elaine; and by other family & friends. A visitation will be Thursday evening Dec. 15, from 5-8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home with services 10:00 am. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 in Carter's Chapel. She will be laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park
