Mr. Barker was born on November 27, 1912 in Axton, Virginia and was a son of the late Daniel Jackson Barker, Sr. and Josephine Barker.
Mr. Barker was a retired sheetmetal worker that was associated with the Sheetmetal Union #100 in Washington D.C. that assisted in construction of the Washington D.C. Metrorail Subway. Upon his retirement he focused his craft on remodeling his farmhouse and working on the farm. He was a hands-on worker that was self taught in many areas including his artistic skills in etching.
Surviving family include two daughters, a son, a sister, and eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Lee Barker Turner; second wife, Freda Pauline Barker and a daughter, Anita J. Krogman.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
