Pfc. Dustin P. Napier, 20, of London, Ky., died Jan. 8 in Zabul province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained from enemy small-arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. He joined the Army in July 2010 and arrived at Fort Wainwright in November 2010. Deployed to Afghanistan last April for a one-year tour of duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is the husband of Tabitha (Sturgill) Napier, the step father of Lane Robison, the son of Darrell and Marianne (Paul) Napier, the brother of Darrell Napier, and Christopher Bittner. He is also the grandson of Monica Paul and James Napier both of London.
