Funeral services for Bryant Sanders Alford (1872-1948), age 76, well known merchant of the Orange Mills area for many years past, who died Wednesday afternoon in a St. Augustine hospital, were held Friday afternoon at the Crabb Funeral Home, with Rev. W. F. Oddy, of Palatka Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill East Cemetery.

The deceased was born and reared at Lawtey, Florida, and had resided at Orange Mills since 1912. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Mae McCraney of Jacksonville, and Mrs. I. L. Brown of Ft. Lauderdale, and three sons, Roy L. Alford of Ft. Pierce, Frank Alford of Orlando, and Henry Marvin Alford of East Palatka. (Palatka Times-Herald Obituary dated Friday, 23 Apr 1948.)

Mother is Maria Ellen Alford (1848-abt 1875), burial site unknown.
As revealed by DNA, father is Seabron Dobson Sr. (1825-1919).
