John David Bankston, 86, of Black Oak, passed away on Thursday March 13, 2008, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. He was born in Harrison on May 27, 1921, to Willie and Dovie Bankston. Mr. Bankston was a retired car salesman. He lived in Mississippi for 30 years before moving to Black Oak and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He leaves behind his son, Michael Bankston of Jonesboro; a daughter, Theressa Bankston of Black Oak; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bankston in 2004, his parents and a son, David Bankston.
Funeral services will be private.
