AARONHOMMA DROWNED SUN.
An Indian Boy 22 Years Old Was Drowned In Mountain Fork River.
Aaron Homma, 22 years of age, of Smithville, was drowned in Mountain Fork river, 7 miles southwest of Smithville, Sunday afternoon when he attempted to swim the river. His body was recovered a few minutes after he drowned.
Aaron, with several other Indians, were crossing the river on a ferry boat, when the boat was stalled in the mud. Aaron climbed out on the cable of the ferry boat and turned loose in the water, sinking a few yards below where he went into the water.
He is a son of Mrs. Jincy Homma, of Eagletown, and a son-in-law of Mrs. Wilmon Johnson, a wealthy Indian of Smithville. Aaron had been married about 8 months.
The remains were laid to rest Monday afternoon in the Tonihka cemetery, three miles southeast of Eagletown. Rev. W. W. Mambi, of Eagletown, conducted the funeral services in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives.
