"Dillard Woodward Baker died January 29, 2007. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Gause, Texas.

"He was born October 7, 1912 in Coleman, Texas. He attended the University of Texas and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Mr. Baker received his J. D. degree in 1936. He practiced law with his father, Judge Jesse Kirkland Baker and brother Alfred Kirkland Baker of Coleman, Texas until November 1937 when he was employed by the Law Department of Humble Oil and Refining Company. In 1961, he was appointed General Attorney and remained in that position until he retired from Exxon U.S.A., successor company to Humble Oil and Refining Company, in November 1977. He was a member of the Houston, Texas and American Bar Associations and Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

"He is survived by the children of his deceased son, Jesse Kirkland Baker II, Catherine "Katie" Theresa Baker of Houston, Texas and Mary Rose Browder, her husband Kervin Link Browder, and his great-grandson, Durham Kirkland Browder of Washington, D. C. and Theresa Daigle Baker, Jesse Kirkland Baker's wife and widow. He is also survived by his son, Roger Thomas Baker, daughter-in-law, Ellen Barrett Baker, his grandchildren Dillard Mills and Alexandra Barrett Baker of New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as by numerous and wonderful nieces and nephews."
