J. H. Cockrell, 85, better known as “Uncle Henry”, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. E. M. Due in Groveton, Thursday at 11:50 pm following an illness of one week.
Mr. Cockrell had been a resident of Trinity County since 1906.
He is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. E. O. Standley of Lufkin, Mrs. E. M. Due of Groveton, Mrs. Dave Connell of Joaquin, Mrs. Ellie Dixon of Tenaha, Mrs. P. E. Smith of Gonzales, Tex., Mrs. Watt Honeycutt of Cleveland and Mrs. John Hall of Cleveland; two sons, T. C. Cockrell of Houston and Bennie Cockrell of Corrigan.
Funeral services are to be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Trinity County, Saturday at 1 pm.
Biscamp Funeral Home of Groveton is in charge of arrangements.
