Harry Strait, 84, 1203 E. Main St., stepfather of retired Chief of Police Earl Rust, died at Ball Hospital at 12:30 a.m. Monday after a short illness.
He was born in Darke County, Ohio, and was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Muncie.
He leaves his wife, Laura; a daughter, Mrs. Lelia Rhodes of Greenville, Ohio; a stepson, Earl Rust of Merritt Island, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. William Wulff Sr., Muncie, and Mrs. Simpson Stowe, Selma; three grandchildren; and a brother, Levi Strait, of Muncie.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
