Novella Faye Pearman Lilley, daughter of William and Ella Choate Barr, was born Nov 3, 1903, near Hartville, MO.

She departed this life on Nov 3, 1995, after a long illness at Primrose Place in Springfield, MO, at the age of 92 years. She was united in marriage to Clarence Pearman who preceded her in death in 1967.

She later married William Lilley and he also preceded her in death.

A son, Harold, was killed in action during World War II and a grandson, Jimmy Ray Pearman, died in infancy in 1955. A stepson Bill Lilley, Jr., 3 sisters Essie McDaris, Oma Lawson, and Ivey Meyers, and a niece Olive DeVoe, also preceded her in death. A brother Raymond Barr passed away only two weeks ago.

Novella is survived by two sons, John and Carl Pearman, and a daughter Olive Hampton. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She is also survived by a step-daughter Janice Hatchett.

Novella lost her mother at an early age and came to live with her Uncle John and Aunt Ollie O'Dell until she married Clarence.

Novella lived in the Little Creek community all her adult life. She stayed at home and raised her children, helped take care of several of her grandchildren, and was a good neighbor and friend. She was especially close to her brother, Raymond. She leaves many friends and relatives. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always active in the Little Creek Church until her health failed, and early on gave her life to Christ. Novella was especially devastated by the loss of Harold during World War II. However, she managed to carry on and raised her family. During her later years she suffered a great deal with various medical ailments which caused her much pain and sufferings. She passes on now to what we all believe is a much better place, to be with her son Harold and other loved ones. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed until we all are reunited.
