BROTHERTON, LOUISA—Mrs. Miles Brotherton died in Geneva, Neb., at 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 26, 1925, aged 78 years, 4 months and 26 days. The funeral will take place at 2:30 this Thursday, afternoon from the Congregational church. Interment will be in the Geneva cemetery.
The death of the late Miles Brotherton of Momence township caused the breaking up of the old home. Although past eighty years of age, Mr. Brotherton had been taking care of his aged invalid wife, and their son James, who required care also because of his mental condition.
Following the death of Mr. Brotherton, James was taken to the state institute at Beatrice, and Mrs. Brotherton was brought to Geneva to be cared for at the home of Mrs. E.R. Steel. Sunday Mrs. Brotherton became very ill of heart failure and her death followed Monday evening.

Mrs. Louisa Brotherton, wife of the late Miles Brotherton, passed away at her home in Geneva, Neb., January 26, 1925, aged 78 years, 4 months, and 26 days.
Mrs. Brotherton had been in poor health for several years, having suffered a paralytic stroke five years ago, which left her physically weak. Sunday, January 25, she suffered a heart attack and on Monday at 5:45 p.m. passed away.
Louisa McBeth was born in Iowa, September 1, 1847. She was united in marriage to Miles Brotherton, January 6, 1870, at Sigourney, Ia. To this union five children were born, two sons and three daughters. Mrs. Brotherton was a Christian and to know her was to love her. As long as she was able, she was always to be found helping someone who was sick. She was a patient and loving mother, she leaves to mourn her death her children, grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. M.M. Myers of Geneva, Neb., and Mrs. Adeline Ferguson of Kirk, Col., besides a host of friends.
