Mr. George Earl Ellison, age 74, of Canton, MO died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 9:40 a.m. in University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, MO. He was born August 16, 1935 in St. Patrick, MO a son of Paul and Agnes Kirchner Ellison. He married Uldine Mitts on July 16, 1955 in St. Patrick, MO. She died November 20, 2003.
Mr. Ellison owned and operated Ellison Electric in Canton from 1971 to the time of his death. He also worked as an electrician at Gardner-Denver in La Grange until his retirement in December 1998.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Priebe and her husband Steve, Patty Hudnall and her husband William and Carol Schaller and her husband Mark all of Canton; two sons, Tom Ellison and his wife Kim of Canton and Tim Ellison and his wife Mary of Weatherford, TX; three granddaughters,Jordyn Ellison of Canton, Tracy (James) Kaylor of Canton, Megan (Travis) Downs of Montgomery, NY; five grandsons, Daniel (Christina) Priebe of Quincy, IL, Brandon Hudnall, Justin Ellison and Jared Schaller all of Canton, and Patrick Ellison of Houston, TX; five step-granddaughters, Kristin and Kaitlen Durham of Weatherford, Alexandra Hudnall and Crystal Chance of Hannibal and Candy Schaller of Los Angeles, CA; three step grandsons, Kolten Durham of Weatherford, Cameron Kirchner of Canton and William Hudnall Jr. of St. Louis, MO;three great grandsons Ben and Gabe Kaylor of Canton and Caleb Downs of Montgomery, N.Y.; two step great grandchildren, Blyth and Baylee Ellison of Weatherford; one brother, Robert E. Ellison of Canton; two sisters, Rita Kirchner of Canton and Dorothy Stuckwisch of Warsaw, IL; three brothers-in-law, Robert Kirchner of Canton, Jack McAndrew of Horseshoe Bay, TX and Jack Mitts of Apache, OK; two sisters-in-law Mary Cunningham of Canton and Ina Mitts of Apache, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister Ladene McAndrew and two brothers John and Paul Ellison.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Patrick in St. Patrick, MO with Father Paul Hartley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Visitation will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.
The family suggests memorials be made to Canton R-5 Booster Club
