Orangeburg - Malcolm Thomas Blake, 79, of 272 Cherry Hill Road, Orangeburg, died early Saturday morning, May17, 2003, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Dwayne Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg. Active pallbearers will be Jayme Files, Gus Files, John Dukes, Blake Bolen, Jackie Valentine and Michael Baldwin. Mr. Blake was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Norway, S.C., a son of the late Thomas Blake and the late Macie Williams Blake. He was a member of Columbia Road Church of God. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a Mason. He was a self-employed logger. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Hooker Blake of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Dayle (Wanda) Bolen of Orangeburg, Mrs. Johnny (Cynthia) Jackson of Sumter and Mrs. George (Sandra) Corley of Orangeburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William D. Blake of Bamberg; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special dedicated friend, Red Thompson. Friends may call at the residence, 272 Cherry Hill Road, Orangeburg, and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
