COMPTON
Mrs. Jane Compton, wife of David Compton, died Tuesday, April 18, 1899 of consumption, aged about 63 years. A husband, two sons, and one daughter survive her. She was a member of the Baptist church. The remains will be interred in the Russell Chapel cemetery, near Tampico, Thursday.
*Note: The obituary erred in that she was survived by 3 sons at the time of her death (James, Reuben, and John); her son William predeceased her by one year.
