Son of William Earp & Hannah Parker. William and Hannah were married October 19, 1837, in Marshall County, Alabama.

Husband of Winnie Phillips

When the U.S. census was recorded in 1850, Henry was living with his parents and siblings in Upshur County, Texas.

When the 1860 U.S. census was recorded, Henry was living in Upshur County, Texas with his parents.

During the 1880 U.S. census, Henry and Winnie were living in Upshur County, Texas with their children, Mary, Martha, Henry, Alexander, Carrie, William and Annie Marcena. His mother, Hannah, was also living in the household. It may be a mistake, but this census lists their son, William, age 0, as being born in Alabama.

According to the 1900 U.S. census, Henry and Winnie were living in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas. This census tells us that they were married about 1866 and were the parents of 7 children, 5 of whom are still living in 1900. Their granddaughter, Gertrude Fanning, was also living in the household during this census.

Their daughter, Annie Marcena Earp Elam, b. February 11, 1872- d. October 25, 1940, is buried in San Jose Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
