Catherine B. (Kay) Sweigert, passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Saint Anne Home, Fort Wayne. Born March 6, 1925, in Fultondale, Ala., she was a daughter of Charles and Minnie Acton. She was married to George Harry Sweigert for 52 years; he preceded her in death in 1999. She worked as a hairdresser for more than 60 years. She loved to work and was a true entrepreneur. "Kay was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother." The last survivor of her 15 siblings, she is survived by six children, sons, Gregory (Carol) Sweigert of Mt. Prospect, Ill., Robert (Laura) Sweigert of Fort Wayne, David Sweigert of Livermore, Calif., and George Webb Sweigert of Portland, Ore.; daughters, Dianne Fisher of Homasassa, Fla. and Sunny (Dick) Lemming of Klamath Falls, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. "Kay well be greatly missed." A memorial mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, aat St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Drive, with calling one hour prior. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Fort Wayne League of the Blind or United Christ Church, Fort Wayne. Arrangements by Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home.
