Cynthia Ellen Fulwider was born 20 Jul 1844 in Decatur, Adams, Indiana, daughter of William Fulwider and Judity Miller. She had at least two siblings, William Ardra b. 1850 and Martha b. 1857.

Cynthia married (1) Samuel M. Gibson on 14 Sep 1862 in Howard Township, Howard county, Indiana. They had at least 2 children: William P. b. 1864 and Ira Ellsworth, b. 1868. Samuel died in 14 Apr 1880.

Cynthia then married (2) Calvin Cummins Armfield on 5 Aug 1880 in Howard county, Indiana (probably Greentown). They had no children but lived together for 30 more years in the Greentown vicinity.

Calvin passed away 29 May 1910 and Cynthia followed about a year later, passing away on 3 Apr 1911 in Greentown. Calvin was buried in the Lamb cemetery in Greentown next to his first wife, Penninah Elizabeth Albertson, and Cynthia was buried in the Lindley section of the Greenlawn cemetery in Greentown next to her first husband Samuel Gibson and just west of her parents William & Judith. Her headstone reads: "Cynthia Ellen, Wife of S. M. Gibson, 1844-1911".

Cynthia Ellen died of chronic catarrhal bronchitis with hemorrage poison, with euremia as a contributory cause of death. V. E. Baldwin was the M.D. and J. E. Fulwider was the undertaker.
