Katherine moved to Pennsylvania while her husband was serving in the U.S.Navy and had lived in the Harrisburg area since 1944. While her life was centered on her family, she also excelled in a career of sales with Avon Products, Inc for over 30 years, earning numerous awards for sales excellence and creativity. She was a member of the Colonial Park United Church of Christ. She was known for her humor and optimism and was equally comfortable in formal settings as she was in nature's country. She enjoyed traveling, music and dancing. Her favorite times were family gatherings, people watching, flower-gardening and sitting around a campfire.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley I. Rehkugler of Harrisburg, PA, widow of John Rehkugler; a step-daughter, Kay M. Kuebler of Erie, PA, widow of John Kuebler, Jr.; a son, Frank A. Wedig, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA, husband of Donna L. Wedig; a daughter, Patricia G. Neely of Valley Head, WV, wife of Roger B. Neely; a son, Christopher P. Wedig of Canton, MA, husband of Thelma Wedig; a daughter, Mary B. Jones of Hummelstown, PA, wife of Barry L. Jones; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, 2 step-grandchildren and their spouses and 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; all of her brothers and sisters; her husband; a daughter, Sharon K. Wedig (1970) and a great grandson, Anson T. Pealer (1994). She lived a long and full life witnessing and adapting to many earthly changes. She will be missed.
The viewing will be held from 10 - 11 am on Monday, Jan 9th, 2012 at the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA . Funeral services will begin at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bonita Zobeck of CPUCC officiating. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Londonderry Rd, Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Center Hospice, 1901 N. 5th St, Harrisburg, PA 17102.
