Mr. James Hardin Councill, 88, of the Triad Methodist Center, Winston-Salem, a native and former resident of Boone, died Friday night.
Son of the late Benjamin J. and Blanche Hagaman Councill. He was a retired division engineer, North Wilkesboro district, North Carolina State Highway Commission (DOT).
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Moore Councill, one son, one daughter, and four grandsons.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the city cemetery in Boone.
